Maris Rauch is the artist behind Volane. She works between classical oil painting, urban aesthetics and social friction. Her works carry the name Volanism — a style that makes the raw, the worn and the seemingly banal not just visible but tangible.

“I paint what others overlook — or don't want to see. My art is not a pretty room. It's a mirror, an exclamation mark, a smile with dirty fingers.”
